A statement or I should say a mantra of mines, which I have relied on for decades is “Get Into My Zone and Maximize Each Moment”. This one statement has gotten me through many of life’s challenges, good and not so palatable.
As a life, career and executive coach, I am often asked what are some behaviors that can contribute to one’s ability to “Get Into Their Zone and Maximize Each Moment” to keep them moving in a positive direction in their personal and professional life.
The behaviors noted below, adapted over a period, have yielded real- life outcomes that have proven to be successful for many of my clients and me. I am sharing this information with the hopes that you too will experience a forward- thinking outlook during life’s journey.
- Create a Possibilities List each day
- Find an accountability partner
- Set aside an hour a day of quiet time
- Build a basic “Resource Tree”©
- Don’t take on any volunteer work that doesn’t move you forward in your mission or towards your vision
- Don’t take on any new relationships that will deduct from your time and energy
- Curtail your television and personal telephone time
- Listen to uplifting messages and music that refuel your soul and spirit
- Continuously ask for HELP from those you can depend on
- Organize your office and living space so you don’t feel chaotic and defeated
- Wear colors that are energizing and fun every day, even if it’s an accessory
- Give yourself a treat every day, this includes time with someone special
- Speak productive statements only, forward-thinking thoughts keep you focused in the right direction
- Be open to all possibilities, even if it is unfamiliar to you
- Share your dreams and good news with Dreamcatchers, they will celebrate with you
- Delete the time you spend trying to re-do or correct the past, it can’t be done-move forward
- Find that one person or one thing that truly motivates you and put it on speed dial
- Eat healthy balanced meals and snacks, because your mind, body and soul all work together for your good
- Look in the mirror each day and say something you like and admire about yourself, no detail is too small (No one is listening, so have fun)
- Arrive 15 minutes early for every meeting, even meetings with yourself
- Keep a “Positivity Journal” and refer back to it when necessary to invigorate your spirit
